The Roxy Hotel
The Roxy isn’t precious. It’s a place that’s at ease being a cataclysmic collision of cultures, eras, and styles. It is what gives it its inimitable personality. From its mid-century-meets-Art-Deco-meets-Regency styling to places to watch unusual foreign films, drink mind-blowing cocktails, and shuck oysters. At the Roxy, anything goes.
The Roxy’s guestrooms are marvellous. They’re well thought through, impeccably styled to the last inch, and have great extras like Frette robes and smart TVs. But you won’t come here to linger in your room. Whether it’s the basement jazz that lures you, an intriguing screening at the cinema, or a lively debate in the coffee shop, there’s always something going on here. The late-night scene is buzzy, so you won’t have to worry about hailing a cab at the end of the night, you’re just a few steps from bed. You’ll have to remind yourself to leave the whirlwind of the Roxy because there’s a whole neighbourhood to explore. When you tear yourself away, Tribeca awaits. Hop on a vintage bicycle (courtesy of the hotel) and go in search of the Ghostbusters headquarters. Although there’s a smattering of intriguing galleries and museums in the neighbourhood for something a little more discerning.
